The Three Types of Blocks We Supply:

The most readily available block type is what we call lego bin blocks. The full sized lego blocks are  4700 lbs and measure 5’L x 2.5’W x 2.5’H. These blocks have two lego-like cylinders on top and two holes in the bottom for the Concrete Blocks Phoenix to interlock.  There is also a rebar handle loop on the top to be used for picking up the block. This block style can also come in a smaller size 2350 lbs., measuring 2.5’L x 2.5’W x 2.5’H. Typically, nine full sized blocks can fit per flat bed delivery.

The lego style blocks are available with a random brick pattern on two sides and a plain face on the other two sides.  Another option available is blocks with a slate façade.

We also offer 6’ x 2’ x 2’ blocks and 4’ x 2’ x 2’ block with two nesting “domes” for interlocking. They have a cobblestone face on one side.

The other available block type is what we call the V-blocks. The full sized V-wedge blocks are 3600 lbs. and measure 6’L x 2’W x 2’H. This block has a V-shaped wedge on the top and on one side. There is a rebar handle loop that can be used for picking up the bin block located on the top. The bottom and other side have a reverse V-wedge so that the blocks can interlock if needed for your project.  This block style can also come in 4’L x 2’W x 2’H (2,400 lbs) and 3’L x 2’W x 2’H (1,800 lbs).  13 full sized blocks can fit per flat bed delivery truck.

How do you get the blocks?

There are two options to acquire the blocks. Most of our suppliers offer delivery or pick up. The first option is that Concrete Block Supply can arrange for a flat bed semi to deliver the blocks to your job site. Once the truck arrives at your job site location you will need to have equipment onsite to offload the blocks yourself.  The heavy equipment you will need at the time of delivery to offload the blocks must be capable of lifting either 3,600 lbs. for the V-Wedge or 4,700 lbs. for the lego blocks.  The deck height of the flat bed is 5’ and the blocks are either 2’ or 2.5’ in height, so the removal equipment needs to be able to reach up high enough to pick the blocks up off of the trailer deck.  All of the blocks have a rebar loop handle located on the top so that you can easily attach a chain to them to move them. No other special rigging equipment will be required with these blocks.  Also, your job site must have adequate space for a 48’-53’ semi truck to maneuver, otherwise you will need to set up an accessible location close to your site to offload the blocks and then use smaller equipment to move the blocks to your job site.  The second option is for you to pick up the blocks at the local plant yourself.  We will arrange a day and time for you to pick them up from your designated location. Once you get to the concrete block plant, the blocks will be loaded on to your trailer for you.  Remember to bring straps or chains to secure the bin blocks to your trailer.  You will then be responsible for removal of the blocks from your trailer to your job site. Please contact us with any questions regarding the requirements for either the job site delivery or the local pick up.  602-887-2990

What are their uses?

Our Concrete Block Supply bin blocks have a variety of uses. Some of our customers and others in the industry have used the blocks for: aggregate storage bins, retaining walls, barriers to direct traffic and/ or parking, property access prevention, building protection, anchor weights for tents, area division, utilities protection, barriers for propane tanks or other above ground fuel tanks, boundary lines for properties, and as a general use heavily weighted object. The lego style bin blocks are built in a way that they easily interlock with other blocks, allowing for flexible configurations, especially when using full or half blocks.

Whatever you call them, we supply them.

We think the most interesting thing about concrete blocks is that each individual and/or area uses different names for the blocks. The most popular names are: bin blocks, jumbo blocks, mafia blocks, large concrete blocks, barrier blocks, interlocking v-blocks, lego blocks, eco blocks, gravity wall blocks, building blocks, storage wall blocks, bunker blocks, waste blocks and left-over concrete blocks. Do you call them something else? Let us know, we would love to add it to our list. Please give us a call 602-887-2990
