So, what type of concrete bin block do we provide in Arcata? Well, we provide a v-wedge block. This block comes in two different sizes: a 6’ x 2’ x 2’ block that weighs 3,600lbs and a 3’ x 2’ x 2’ block that weighs 1,800lbs. In regards to transportation of the blocks, on each trailer, thirteen of the 6’ blocks can fit and twenty-six of the 3’ blocks can fit. So, why are v-wedge blocks called “v-wedge” blocks? It’s actually because of their unique interlocking system. Their block interlocking system consists of two sets of different v-wedges. On the top and side of the block is one set, while a reverse version of the wedge can be found on the bottom and opposing side. These wedges enable the blocks to interlock together smoothly and efficiently. Also, another cool feature is that each block comes with a rebar handle loop on top, which means you need no special rigging equipment in order to move these blocks! We provide concrete barrier blocks in Arcata, CA. But how do you receive your blocks? Well, that’s what we will discuss now. So, in regards to block transportation, we have two different options available: pick up or delivery. First, let’s talk about our pick up process. To set pick up in motion, the first thing you will need to do is give our number a call. Someone from our team can set you up with a date and time to come visit our facility and pick up your blocks. However, we will load the blocks onto the trailer for you. But, we do ask that you bring along a set of chains and/or straps so that we can secure the blocks. Now we will discuss the delivery process. Please note that this option has a few requirements that must be met. First off, your block drop off site must have an available area of 47’-53’ available so that the delivery trailer can enter and exit the site safely. If this much space is not available, we can discuss dropping off the blocks at another, nearby location and use smaller machinery to move the blocks to the actual site. Next, your drop off site must have the proper equipment that is capable of safely offloading the blocks once they arrive. This equipment must be able to reach a height of up to 7’+ because each block is 2’ in height, along with the trailer, which is 5’. The equipment must also be able to withstand carrying weight ranging from 3,600-1,800lbs, depending on the size of block you are having delivered. If you have any questions regarding either of the block transportation options, please contact us! 833-763-1711
