Building a storage bin using concrete bin blocks is an easy and effective way to store materials outdoors. Our V-Wedge blocks measure 6’L x 2’W x 2’H and weigh 3,600 lbs each, making them the perfect size for outdoor storage bins. These blocks are designed to interlock securely which makes them great for creating walls and other structures. The durable nature of the blocks make them an ideal material for creating storage bins that can withstand the elements. With a little bit of effort, you can easily create a secure and long-lasting bin to store your materials outdoors. Our concrete bin blocks will provide reliable storage year after year. Here’s a step-by-step guide for building your very own material storage bin using our V-Wedge blocks:

  1. Begin by figuring at the desired pattern for your structure. Is this example we are building two 12’W x 28’L x 8’H material storage bins.

2. You will need a flat stable surface to build on. At 3,600 lbs per block the weight of the wall will quickly add up, so make sure the surface you are building on will hold up under the weight.

3. Start with the first row of the storage bin. Put down your first row of V-Wedge blocks, check each block as you go to make sure they are secure and level with each other before continuing. You may need to adjust some of them depending on the terrain. This first level is usually the most time consuming.

4. Once you have finished securing your first row, stack your second row of blocks on top of the first layer and again check for levelness and security. You’ll want to stagger the bin blocks’ joints to make them more secure. (The blocks will typically need to be swept off to get rid of any debris.)

5. Sometimes the V-Wedge’s interfere with your design layout. When that happens you can simply knock of the V-Wedge that is in conflict with your design.

Please see the three videos below. You can use a sledge hammer, a hammer drill with a chisel attachment, or a demo saw

6. Repeat the same pattern for the third layer and if necessary, level any blocks that didn’t sit perfectly flat.

7. Once you have all three levels stacked and secured, add your fourth layer of 6’L x 2’W x 2’H V-Wedge blocks to complete your bin.
