The type of block that we have readily available for Kansas City and nearby areas is what we call the “V-block.” The V-block name comes from the fact that the block has a v-shaped wedge on the side and on the top. In addition, this block has a reverse v-wedge on both the top and side. This wedge enables the blocks to interlock easily, if your project requires the blocks to be connected. For picking up the block, a rebar handle loop, positioned at the top, can be used.  The full sized blocks are 6’ x 2’ x 2’ and weigh 3,700 lbs. Another size block that we offer is 4’x 2’ x 2’ and weigh 2400 lbs while the smallest sized blocks are 2’x2’x2’ and weigh 1200 lbs. On a typical trailer bed thirteen 6’ x 2’ x 2’ blocks, eighteen 4’ x 2’ x 2’ sized, or thirty-seven 2’ x 2’ x 2’ sized blocks can be fit, or a combination of them.

How are our concrete blocks used? 

There are both a lot of names for different concrete blocks and a lot of different uses for them as well. A few examples of how these concrete blocks can be handy are the following: anchor weights, creating storage bins, controlling traffic, security of propane or fuel tanks, utilities protection, retaining walls made of concrete, common weight, managing parking lots, property separation, and road district storage. Our blocks have been used all over the country for these purposes and there are probably still a number of undiscovered, possible uses for them. How do you acquire the blocks?

We have two basic methods to help you receive your concrete blocks: delivery or pick up. To gather your blocks via pick up, you can give us a call and schedule a date and time to visit our facility and gather your blocks. Your part is easy! All you have to do is bring your own chains and/or straps to secure the concrete blocks to the trailer. Then, we’ll personally load the concrete blocks onto the truck bed for you! Our other method regarding the receival of the blocks is through delivery. For this process, proper, on-site equipment must be present in order to unload the blocks from the delivery truck. The normal delivery truck bed has a height of 5’ and the blocks, both full, and half sized, have a height of 2’. Because of this, the equipment you plan to use to unload the blocks must be able to reach 7+’, in order to maneuver the blocks. The blocks themselves do not require any special rigging, but your machinery must be able to carry a weight from 3700lbs to 1200lbs, in regards to what type of block being delivered. By simply attaching a chain on the top of the block, where the rebar handle loop is located, you can then easily move the block as you please. In addition, please consider the fact that your site must have an adequate space of 48’-53’ in order for the semi truck to exit. If your site does not have enough room for this purpose, you have the option of receiving the delivery at a nearby location and use smaller equipment to move the blocks to the real site.
